Every time I am thinking about AI, there is a fatal concept that comes to mind with AI, it has never done anything but, it can explain it in concept it but not much else.
Three novice hikers from Roseville were stranded overnight on Mt. Shasta after following Google’s Gemini AI for route and packing advice, turning an expected eight-hour climb into a multi-day ordeal in Mud Creek Canyon.
What.. the fuck.. asking gemini for instructions to climb a mountain is like asking google maps to guide you through a city when you forget its in pedestrian mode. You will go down more than a few one ways backwards and likely end up with mr police officier asking if you are on something.
In what authorities are calling a “critical misstep,” three hikers relied heavily on Google’s Gemini AI to guide them through a Mt. Shasta summit, leaving them stranded on the mountain’s southeastern flank.
A critical misstep is understatement of the century, what is next for our enterprising adventurers climbing Mt Everest and ignoring sherpa’s that have boots on the ground for centuries and going “Nah dude we got this with AI!” .
In a post on Facebook, the Sheriff’s Office said, “The men summited at 7:00 pm that evening, well after the recommended turnaround time of 12:00 pm, and descended in the dark.”
Officials said that, an hour into their descent, the group called the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch to ask for directions but eventually wandered off route into Mud Creek Canyon.
That evening, one of the hikers fell and suffered a knee injury.
Our heroes here failed in so many ways it’s not funny. AI is not a magic device that makes you superior at doing things it makes you stupider at doing things if you have no concept of how to do it. AI has never climbed a mountain, AI has never gone to work in new york through the subways and over road routes. it has a “concept” of all of this but it has never done it for itself and this makes AI a bad companion when the user does not know how to do things. If you are talking to AI about installing a 240v supply for your washing machine and use the same prompt later for building a PC you never know if the AI will amalgamate the two together and it tries to make you a PC powered at 240V .
If you are clueless and you have no idea how to do something, Start with the basics like “I want to go up Mt Shasta”. Than ask yourself what does it take to go up Mt Shasta , OH YEAH CLIMBING. our heroes were young here and likely from a university, firstly they could of checked at the uni if there was any climbing or hiking groups. Secondly, they could of reached out to any local climbing place and say ” hi, I do not have much climbing experience and want to climb Mt Shasta.” In two tenths of a second the guy at the climbing place is going to do one of two things, If he just answers the question he’d say “NO don’t do it ” Or if the guy is into his craft “no, please don’t do it, our Climbing group goes to Mt Shasta twice a year and its not recommended for novice, How about I offer you an introductory to climbing course at 25% off?”
We need to stop acting like AI is the mastery of anything, if anything the AI is the master of average, It takes the sum of human intelligence and averages it out. That is AI’s ability. It can’t fathom new ideas, It can NOT figure out how much rocks have fallen on Mt Shasta, Microclimates, our Heroes Abilities or disabilities.
At Mushroom Rock (12,800 ft), another climbing party warned them to turn around. They ignored them and kept climbing into the dark. This is class A dumbarrery at an epic level. Because at the simplest of levels walk around your house… Than blackout every window in the house and try that again. You will fail.

The incident occurred days before Google announced its multi-year partnership with Beast Industries, a company founded by YouTube influencer Jimmy Donaldson, also known as his media personality MrBeast, who produces viral spectacles online.

This will end well? But Mr Beast has millions of dollars and some experience here so I guess he will do well, but this idea is fucking horrible because it’s going to cause more heroes for Mt Shasta. Those rescues are not cheap and at times people recieve bills into the tens of thousands of dollars.
The sheriff’s office said hikers should also have multiple methods of wayfinding. “Do not simply rely on your cellphone or Garmin, and stop to verify that you are on the correct route often.”
The Clear Creek Route on Mt. Shasta, which the three hikers wandered onto, is not a technical mountaineering route, but officials say it still requires climbers to be physically fit and prepared for unforeseen circumstances, such as an injury, inclement weather or an unplanned overnight stay.
“Serious accidents and fatalities occur on the Clear Creek route when individuals become lost and wander into more dangerous terrain, such as the Mud Creek drainage,” officials said on Facebook.
My closing here is Mr Sheriff from the office has sage advice “Do not simply rely on your cellphone or Garmin, and stop to verify that you are on the correct route often.” This man is our hero in the adventure because the three guys basically decided to conquer a mountain with a keyboard.

Things I’ve heard about data centers from no one in particular.
1: Everyone needs a Data Center.
Not everyone needs a data center. No one wants a white noise machine that plays above safe hearings levels. The thing is data Centers are taking up building and land next to residential areas because they are looking for the shortest plug to the outlets. Why go out to the middle of the desert and annoy no one when you have all you need on the edge of a city . They come in and asks towns for tax breaks and special use overrides in water/electricity uses and make everyone around them poorer for having them come in . Its like saying a billionaire moving into a small town will make everyone rich but he stays up all night partying and takes a dump on your front lawn.
2: Everyone gets rich around a Data Center.
If you want a tax break without even having to go to your city meetings are too anxious and don’t like your being home being valuable because taxes are too high, The data center running is what you want! If you like your water brown and want everything to look like the flooded delta of a river because of overruns in cooling, Get a data center. If you think you don’t replace your electronics enough and you want them to wear out faster due to brownouts every time the massive cooling fans kick up. Get a Data Center! If you don’t want to listen to your wife and need an excuse rather than ignore her and her question if you have hearings loss, Get a data center! Data centers should not be these things that are city blocks wide. if a place wants a data center, a reasonable installment that is agreed in three ways between the municipalities , the citizens and the data company should be key. These data centers also let off massive plumes of heat that can hurt humans and animals.
3: Data Centers use no electricity.

This is just batshit. when you have AI companies buying the rights to spin up old nuclear reactors this farce is to false the pants are not only on fire they exploded into a supernova. A single modern hyperscale AI data center cluster draws much more than an office building, it demands 300 to 1,000+ megawatts which is around powering the scale of powering every house in the state of rhode island. I mean honestly if you believe this, I got some snake oil for you that cures boredom, homeschooling, every disease, the shits, your car not starting, your ex girlfriend in one convenient formula.

Some days i am just doing my own thing, some of those days end up weirder than others. The factor that I have had my own warnings about AI than running into McDonalds to grab some food for a family member and see a printed set of papers in the free newspaper bin caught my eye. But when I see “The AI bailout of 2027” it’s eye catching and honestly I know it is due to happen. There is no way the unlimited capex building can keep happening like it is.
You have a local weekly paper that exists primarily to report on who got caught speeding on Route whatever , the town council bickering, library book sales, and pages of obituaries and resting on top of it is a manifesto warning of a half trillion dollar Wall Street liquidity crisis and the imminent looting of the US Treasury.
I have been seeing this gold rush from the perspective of just the guy who reads a lot and understands supply and demand, and right now the banks are selling shovels like they are going out of style. So seeing an article without a header or a site piqued my interest. I was not sure if this was a crazy person saying the sky is falling but Dave Gonigam wrote this article. In the start of this printed paper it starts ominously.

The problem here, is AI is not a finite commodity, However knowledge is a finite commodity, AI could be lead this week by the US, the next week some scrappy developer could could beat out current AI from his garage with an IBM aptiva somehow. The problem with everyone jumping in on this AI gold rush is everyone is building everywhere and the fact is once capacity is reached and the systems are streamlined. we are going to be stuck with a lot of dead data centers. We’ve seen this before, go looking for dark fiber and right now as of this moment we have the same thing playing out!

The line, “treat compute infrastructure much like commercial real estate, toll roads or other assets to borrow against” is the lead here, its the SaaS , the BMW heated seats. The Lawn Mower you are not allowed to repair. This is the divide and conquer of the computer. Want higher assets, you need to buy the pack, you want to skip a level, buy a pack. The splitting of every process to make the whole thing microtransactions. instead of making toast, you get the Bread insertion charge. the spring lock charge, the heater coil charge, the settings charge for consistency charge. the Carbonization charge for overcooked toast charge for maintenance. Finally the completed Toast charge when it pops up.

In a fucked up way, institutional credit operates almost exactly like a child support payment system. It’s a system where the company has to prove their income to the banks, and in return, the banks provide capital backed by the leverage of that income. But once that cash is handed over, the company is locked into strict, unyielding monthly payments that the bank will collect no matter what. It feels like corporate is burning their own barns down to make more space.
Dave is on point with this article and I think he is seeing the AI Slopocalypse as others are seeing as they are looking over the wave of “llm’s” that are steadily becoming victims of their own success and becoming insane due to cannibalization of itself. AI is slowly coming down with its own version of Bovine spongiform encephalopathy and whether corporate knows it or not the end of the road is paved with good intentions but right now feeding your herd with its own slop is a deadly recipe..

Weird things to do with shoes , review- (Carhartt, Insoles with Insite® Technology, CMI9000)
Every now and then you need comfort in shoes, and being like me, I was feeling something in my shoes and the insoles were wearing out and a somewhat new pair of shoes. I do not tend to wear sneakers, due to no ankle support. I wear waterproof hikers year around just about because most time hikers support the arch and makes it easier to walk, as I do have disabilities.
But for the insole to self destruct in only less than 8 months of owning a shoe is pretty bad even though that The Solomon X ULTRA PIONEER MID is a Fantastic shoe. So looking around amazon I saw many insoles, most looking like pure foam and on stuff that is foam I need to use care in selecting a insert, because too much foam like sketchers is an easy path for me to fall on my face.
Given that Solomon does one bad thing here, They do not sell replacement Insoles for their shoes and that should be considered sin. Because a high end hiker that does not support their own brand force the user down the planned obsolescence route is ridiculous.
So I went with Carhartt Men’s Insite Footbed CMI9000 Insole, I figured the look the part. It took a day or two to get them and you know what.. they fucking fit. what surprised me is the amount of arch support. I know these are likely for carhartt boots but, I am willing to science it up for science.
So give or take this Franken-shoe or Dr Solomon and Mr Carthartt hide.. Test will be interesting.. Usually shoe companies do not play nice with each other. so given the fact that these solomon shoes that cost over 179$ and having a insole that died in months. Im willing to give the Carhartt insoles and chance and see what happens. who knows in a week I could be bitching my foot hurts. But you know what , if it works lets see..

I was looking at videos today and I realize that we(the US) have so badly bifurcated our culture. We are all angry, We all want to yell fuck off to each other. It takes so much energy to be constantly angry. We need to fucking stop already. Work through our differences, This is not a red vs blue thing, Its humanity and we as a culture can not survive if we keep this.
The news tells us to be angry, social media tells us to be outraged, but, its is missing one thing… How to fix it! Realistically watching the news you do not see any caring articles anymore. Social media is brainrot to blind us from the real issues.
Look at this . its 11 months ago! everyone getting together and dropping their differences in a flash mob forgetting for one moment in time to join in and be “one” rather than trying to judge a person of why to hate them.
This alone should tell you as a culture we have become so divided that we forget compassion, we forget empathy and try to divide each other for no reason what so ever other than spread hate.
The psychological stress today in the US is so high we are stuck to our screens going what next, another group waits to find out what to hate next. This is not a red vs blue issue, this not Female vs male vs trans issue, this is a human issue. When we are told to hate trans, The next excerpts an entire portion of people born out of the norms of gender. Look up XXY, XYY, XXX, and XO chromosomes, The thing is there are more of those people who do not fall into the binary gender than Trans folks themselves.
We need to get back to the point of basic human appreciation. Honestly, these folks who are thrown into the system without a choice and have an angry mob ruining every aspect of their lives and they did not make a choice to do anything. They are thrown to the wolves and more over it should not happen.
To come away from our ideological differences and work towards the human condition. If you want to dress and drag and do the hula , that’s up to you. In 1994 no one batted an eye over one line in the Lion King, Now there is a profound moral crisis that can be solved in one word.. “hi” rather than judge someone before you even talk to them. If someone falls pick them up, you cant just leave someone falling than record them for a tiktok video because you think its funny. If they laugh while you recorded that, give them a hand and ask if you can use it , in that one moment you created a connection if they say no then delete it while showing them. You have created a profound moment of human connection.
We as the citizens offload cognitivally offload our empathy to the news and parse it to the daily norm and break our connection to humanity. The flash mobs in paris should be a lesson to the human condition. For one moment in the lives of someone in paris stops and sees this happen, they forget for one moment all of their anger and join in for a singular profound moment of togetherness. We have handed over our critical thinking and emotional intelligence to corporate news anchors and tech algorithms, and we are paying for it with our sanity. This needs to stop and we should take care of our emotional ecosystems, Saying good morning to your neighbor might change their day , there needs to be change. Emotion sociological change.
We’re standing at the edge of absolute cultural exhaustion, We need to have grace and compassion even to the ones you disagree with.. In the end we are all human and we have a machine telling us what to hate.
But in the end. If you see a person who is having a bad day , ask are you ok, they might be weirded out but its a single moment of connection that we all need. we need to stop treating people like props for a TikTok video, you step in to manually pull up someone who takes a fall, a loss or profound injury Physical or mental , and you ask a person having a rough day if they’re doing alright. That changes the whole trajectory of the universe for you and that person. so like Nike, Just do it!

Judge Beats Off Prosecutor in Gamble inflatable member case against local pd.
Fairhope Municipal Judge Haymes Snedeker acquitted Renea Gamble Wednesday of all remaining misdemeanor charges stemming from her decision to wear a inflatable 7-foot penis costume at an anti-Trump “No Kings” protest in October 2025.
From the website Courthouse News Service a Big dick was acquitted from doing hard time. Renea Gamble Faced a judge and was threatened with hard time when the judge dropped 7 changes of Ms Gamble of being a dick.
Gamble walked out of the courtroom after three hours of testimony cleared of any wrongdoing, but her attorney said her arrest was traumatizing and she may consider legal recourse.
She is not dicking around here, but in the future if you are treated like a hard and stroked violently, She should act and get legal recourse. Gamble, a retired sign language interpreter who is used to hard things and giving tactile messages with her hands.
Body camera footage that went viral showed Fairhope police zeroing in on Gamble’s inflated member. Holy Shit it’s only Tuesday!: A bit on things about things 1.
I know I have not posted too much over the year but I keep saying the same thing, I’ll fucking post at one point. Over the past year I have picked up another hobby- Interest. Archery.
You may think what the fuck. in all the interest in the world you come up with that! Well… yes … Yes I have .. Because if your are going to do something you might as well have fun doing it, In the past year I have had more issues with loosing the ability of moving my arms to a degree. It’s annoying, It makes me want to be like an old G I Joe. if the arm is fucked… add another. But , Anyways, I was in therapy at the time and I knew someone that took up archery , Their movements was exactly replicated what I was doing in therapy, And I thought to myself, Hey….. I can do this and destroy things……?
Well now… Fuck me I am in! Mind you it has not been the easiest road and Its been a journey into myself that made me realize how much I have lost. That day I went to a sporting goods store and tried my hand at shopping for a bow. At the very moment you enter a sporting goods store that’s bigger than your average Cumberland farms You will realize three things if you purchase something from a big box store.
- As much as the employees give you recommendations… They don’t know shit about things.
- The first purchase you make at a big box store in order to acclimate yourself to a new hobby will be a waste.
- What ever money you put out you will realize you should of gone to “X store” to begin with.
In those three things you will reflect and end up realizing every mistake you could possibly make is in the first 20 minutes of buying your first bow with no help. After you buy your first bow you will have delusions of grandeur, The first time you hit the center of the target you think your motherfucking Rambo, and can take out the army
But in Archery there is something that will snap you back into reality faster than an exploding tank. The first time you do it , its an awe inspiring shot of reality of how well you really know archery.
The first time you do that , You will reflect for a moment of how exactly you fucked up and attempt to never do that again and not two seconds later you will end up doing the same thing like a sadist on the weekend at a convention.
In almost a year , I have got some strength in my arms.
Its a good feeling to be able not to feel like you’re falling apart or even able to pick up things. Even with the advent of this I have my problems, fine coordination is out the window . but in the very least I can do a bit more . I figure this is a good starting point for now… but for now this is it and I will add more later.

Flatulence from 90 cows in a German barn sparked a methane gas explosion that damaged the building and left one cow slightly injured with burns, police said Tuesday.
“In the barn for 90 dairy cows, methane built up for unknown reasons and was probably ignited by a static discharge, exploding in a darting flame,” said local police in the central town of Rasdorf in Hesse state.
“Parts of the roof cover were slightly damaged and a cow suffered minor burns,” said police, adding that a fire crew rushed to the scene of Monday’s accident and a gas field crew later measured methane levels.
Aside from the taco joke, That has to be sight to be seen. cow farts gone critical.Bessy the night before had Indian food, When questioned she was not aware of her emissions till she had lit up a smoke for the night .
