EA for years has been known for abysmal games of poor quality, although they have improved in some matters but, its really false positive in my mind.
Sure there are a handful of good games from EA as of recently – Crysis, burnout paradise,the sims 3(I guess) *orange box doesn’t count because its a repackage from steam
If you look the games are made by 3rd party developers that seemed to have been distributed by EA. Which explains there quality….
If you look at Command and Conquer 3 which was nothing short of a lobotomy with no anesthetic because of the games unplayability through crashing and bluescreens of death, I tried the game on both of my pc’s and both times I was greeted with errors that made the game unplayable.
If you look at Tiger Woods 10 there was a glaring “new” thing … Micro-transactions , Right out of the box you have to buy shit. No good.
If you looks at most EA sports games they basically redo the player data base and throw a new coat of paint on the games so to speak. I used to buy the NHL series, but I gave up on the game due to EA making the controls overly complicated just to “add challenge” , having 3 buttons to make a shot with is just about as useful as having 4 tits on a bull and asking it for an ice coffee , It doesn’t work. By NHL 2004 I’d given up on the series. Now EA has dropped NHL and Madden series from the pc, citing piracy among other things.
EA’s new direction though is something to be concerned with with in-game advertising and micro-transactions its a double team of trouble. Looking at Tiger Woods 10 the first thing I noticed was you could buy a fucking bunny suit, what the flying fuck. Its a golf game… now the Sims 2, The Game in itself is Ok as far as playability. while the wii motion plus does add depth to the game.
But, the micro-transactions are retarded , Since this was offered on DAY 1 of the release of the game why did i pay 59$ for a game that has MORE shit that can be bought. If they made an expansion pack for the game I’d be a little more apt to deal with that. Madden 10 is even worse than tiger woods, basically you instead of cheat codes that used to be in the games (codes madden card etc), Now you can actually spend money to Cheat in the game? what the hell? The even stupider thing is the fact you need to pay money for a difficulty level in the game.
Sure EA got a little better in the recent times but, really if you look at the games its leeched talent, at the rate EA wants things they are trying to lock your credit card Into whatever game you play, not to mention EA reserves the “right” to break your game when they please, due to the fact there’s no more direct connect play options in 99% of EA’s games and they are claiming they need the micro-transactions to cover the cost of there servers… Excuse me… but what the hell did you cover the cost of your online servers before with.. sending people out in the street to beg for coins… This is just a cash grab for fools. Really EA needs to look at the players and not the Stock owners, because they are going to keep loosing players .
EA has already alienated the PC users badly, Now they are aiming to alienate the Console users by selling a half finished game than selling the other half of the game as microtransactions, So why is EA so afraid of the PC? that’s the million dollar question.
Well, PC users generally do not like Micro-transaction and in most cases game companies will not break up a game and sell an unfinished game to PC users due to they might get a little more pissed than a console users.
EA … Its not in the game anymore… its only in the game if you buy the game for 50$ than buy 20$ worth of shit to get the full game.
