If you look at the focus of this GoM oil spill BP  is only focused on sweeping this oil spill under the rug.

reading from CNN.com

BP vows to ‘clear every drop of oil off the shore’

Nice out of sight out of mind maneuver, they have been dumping dispersants on the surface to make the oil sink… the thing is the oil is still there. The Gulf of mexico is not a rug.

If you haven’t  or have seen the news there’s currently a huge ass oil spill in the gulf of Mexico currently. The Deepwater  horizon exploded on April 22nd

Deepwater Horizon was an ultra-deepwater, dynamically positioned, semi-submersible offshore drilling rig which sank on April 22, 2010, causing the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The spill was the result of an explosion two days earlier where eleven crewmen died. Deepwater Horizon was built in 2001 in South Korea, is owned by Transocean and was leased to BP plc until September 2013

Of this spill I’ve noticed that the news is trying to keep the down low on this. Wither Its by BP’s request or the news just doesn’t want to cover it, Its Horrifying.  Looking at CNN.com the Oil spill is mentioned but not even in the main topic area.  In the topics that are meant to catch your attention  “Miss USA brushes aside controversy”. Who the fuck cares if she danced on a pole. if you google it you can find home poledancing kits. also the who muslim bit, who cares. Call me when the pope wins the Miss USA.

But to Actually find information on the oil spill its not on the landing page for CNN, If you goto CNn.com you get the US edition if your in the US than you have to click US edition AGAIN to get anything on the oil spill.
BP should be sued into nonexistence until they clean up this spill, Just to give you an idea of size of this spill, the state of Rhode Island is 1,545sq miles. the spill for the gulf right now is at 2,500 to 9,100 sq mi, yes You can fit the entire state of Rhode Island into this spill. Whats pissing me off is the whole lack of information and BP publicly blocking people from seeing the damage that’s occurring

Watch CBS News Videos Online

BP has resisted entreaties from scientists that they be allowed to use sophisticated instruments at the ocean floor that would give a far more accurate picture of how much oil is really gushing from the well.

This is disgusting. Reading further

“We’re not going to take any extra efforts now to calculate flow there at this point. It’s not relevant to the response effort, and it might even detract from the response effort.”

thats just fucking beyond dumb.  OK, we have no clue how much oil is being spilled, so heres some paper towels and good luck.  How can the flow rate not be important.  knowing the flow rate would tell you if your efforts are even working rather than taking a random shot at it.

There’s just so many different aspects of this spill that are lining this up to be the worst disaster with oil in the US.  One of the immediate thoughts i had when this occured is what would happen if  this spill catches up in the thermohaline circulation. It  is sometimes called the ocean conveyor belt, the great ocean conveyor, or the global conveyor belt.

Oil From Deepwater Horizon Spill Enters Loop Current -NOAA

I’m curious to the legacy the BP is going to leave behind, One of fabrication and  destruction , or are they going to actually try to clean this up.

Get your life rafts out and hmm the gilligans island theme. we’ve had enough rain here to have a gilligans island season in rhode island.

Well the last few weeks have been about as fun as  real life reenactment of waterworld.  For the last 2 weeks the first days of the week have had some massive rains.

Two weeks later now we have Rainageddon.

(more to come have to upload pictures.)

In the early half of 2009,  I purchased Teva aravalli mens shoes. For years I have worn Teva shoes since Timberland shoe quality went downhill.  Now since I do not drive a car, quality of shoes are important to me.

Around Mothers Day in 2009 I purchased these shoes and out of the store they were very comfortable. but, after a month these shoes started to fall apart which aggravated me.  The glue to hold the sole together had was very inferior due to the fact that the more you walked the more that the sole separated from the shoe.

After I had returned the first pair I figured that the shoes were a fluke.  In june I the second pair and those too fell apart in no time.   Since I needed shoes and the older Teva shoes I had some holes in them, the retailer I bought the shoes from did everything in there power to help me out, but to no avail. finally I had emailed Decker shoes the parent company of Teva figuring that i’d get no response. About a week late to my surprise I received an email back

Hi Mike

Thanks for your email.  Honestly.  We really appreciate you taking some time to connect with us and share your feedback.

First, I’m sorry to hear of your most recent issues with Teva products.  You are absolutely correct in your frustration, we definitely owe you a huge apology and a new pair of shoes.  I hope you will accept both from me and know that I will help in finding a resolution.  Teva prides itself on high performance, quality and, as a sign of our camaraderie, our customer service.  I’m sorry to hear we fell short in these department for you.

As you may know, the Aravalli is no longer available in our current line.  However, I would be happy to replace your shoes with a pair from our current selection.  I would like to offer something like the Riva Leather eVent or the Riva eVent.  You can check both out here.  If these aren’t exactly what you’re looking for, just let me know if something else stands out.

Once you choose a style, please let me know your size and address for shipping.  I’ll go ahead and get these out as soon as possible.  Also, for all of your troubles, I would like to also extend an offer for a pair of our Mush flips.  I know it’s starting to change seasons but year-around these are a definitely a treat for your feet.

Thanks again Mike for reaching out.  We’re glad to hear from you and I apologize again, on behalf of Teva, for your troubles.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

jaime

After a few email exchanges Teva sent me a pair of Teva Riva Event shoes, These shoes are amazingly comfortable, A little tight at first but after you break in the shoes. they are very light, durable, and weatherproof. I really have to hand it to Teva/Deckers shoes for helping me out and fixing this problem with my shoes.  Really as far as shoes go I never thought of Teva for shoes, I used to use Timberlands for shoes but, as there quality went downhill I was happy to find this brand.

Well, after a year and half+ of not having a bike I finally got sick of the lack of Mobility. My old bike was a black mountian bike that i had used for at least 5 to 6 years and just from the amount of travel i put on the thing the bikes bearings were actaully Crushed from so much use. Well due to my condition, I really had put thought into what kind of bike and what I needed from it.

So For one it had to be

  • Light for one (i’ve lost alot of strenght in my arms due to condition)
  • Cheap enough not to break the bank
  • Good construction (dont need it to fall appart while riding)
  • Something to last Awhile

Well After going to a few Stores i finally ended up with this.

Even thought his bike appears to be heavy you would be Surprised when you pick it up . This morning I decided to give this thing a test and run up the bike path near my house – its a nice path Currently this path is cut in half through by construction that is taking forever to complete, I choose the bike path thinking it would be good try out for the bike. theres barely any hills (i did not want the bike to come appart in a hilly area where i’d have to carry up or down hills to come home.

I had Also taken my camera along to see how well i could support the camera bag while riding the bike and along the way I would stop and take pictures of whatever interested me at the time. about 1 mile up the path I found a Rather large Collective Of turtles. it was crazy to see so many in one place.

After the bike path I continued on to some woods near my house since the bike path just has alot of people on and not nessarly the nicest people or people that generally have any inteligence when it comes to a bike path , Useaully bike paths have set travel lanes and really what happens Is you end up have someone not paying attention to you at all as you comming up/down the bike path swing out in front of you or totally ignore you. which is completely fucking annoying . so after i Calmed down a bit – I had my phone and was talking with a good friend over AIM via my phone – I figured i’d play with the depth of field with my camera and enjoy the peace of not having idoits around .

Interestingly enough that message came up When i took the picture and i did not realize that till after the fact

but as far as having a bike again to travel it really makes traveling very enjoyable rather than walking all over the damn place. and having my camera along made it abit more fun just to mess arouund with it and go from places to place taking pictures

The picture above is a farm that is a shot distance from my home but I did found some interesting ways to vary the subjects of my pictures and trying not to kill myself since i have not road a bike in over a year.

there is a small water fall in this farm area when i walked up to it iw as completely oblivous to these frogs and there was more than 3 or 4in the water i did not notice.

Blizzard seems to be a  word that New England meteorologists use for any snow storm forecast greater than four inches.  In this storm, they were mostly right.

Snow fell for most of the day ending around 7pm.  High winds with the snow fall made for almost white out conditions.  Rhode Island was put in a state of emergency banning all road traffic.

Also, for the first time, I actually heard a real announcement on the Emergency Broadcast System.  My parents were equally shocked as they’d never heard anything but the test pattern from the EBS in their life.

About two feet of snow fell when the storm was finally over.  Nice excuse to play with the snow blower >:0)

After the driveway was done, I walked with my brother to Honey Dew for a coffee.  But alas…  Honey Dew was closed T_T

Sorry I don’t have any photos to accompany this report; I was staying warm inside playing the final day of C4 PTS.
